About

Bogue Street Records is an interdisciplinary record label and platform for artists. Founded by Austin Oting Har with fellow faculty, staff and students at the Residential College in the Arts and Humanities (RCAH) at Michigan State University, it releases projects at the crossroads of contemporary music, poetry, video and sound art.

Launched in December 2025, it is building a network of partnerships in Michigan’s capital, Lansing, a hub for DIY culture and experimentalism. While its curatorial habits are eclectic, its mission is to facilitate community-engaged, interdisciplinary collaborations between emerging and established talent. By tapping into the creative pulse of the city, it advances the active aesthetic of art as a prism, not a mirror, capable of forging new pathways for thinking, feeling, and engaging with contemporary issues.

Stay tuned for the first releases in Spring 2026 featuring local talents bioPrism and Worm Moon, and former Lansing poet laureate Dennis Hinrichsen.

Student Representatives

Juno Bursch

graphic design

Juno Bursch is a Michigan State University student who majors in Arts and Humanities as well as English Secondary Education with a minor in Religious Studies. They have been involved with Bogue Street Records from the beginning as the student graphic designer, one of the first to ever join, where they handle most of the publicity and advertising for events. They have a passion for public service and plan to go into education. Since childhood, they have been immersed in art: novels, poetry, music. They spend their free time reading and writing, listening to music, and creating art. Favorite artists include Ethel Cain, Charming Disaster, and The Crane Wives.

Kennedy Deshazer

graphic design and photography

Kennedy Deshazer is a sophomore majoring in Arts and Humanities, focusing on the arts and community engagement pathway, alongside a minor in Graphic Design. Kennedy works in the Language and Media Center (LMC) in RCAH, and has increased her skills in photography (having experience taking photos for the Turner Dodge Open House), graphic design, editing, and forms of digital media while working in the space. She has always been passionate about music since she was a kid and loves to listen to different genres of music, opening herself to multiple artists and the culture of music around the world. Therefore, joining Bogue Street Records has made Kennedy more encouraged to expand the music scene in Michigan and recruit more artists who are in the area, giving them opportunities to share their music with the public. In Kennedy’s free time, she loves to make art (whether it’s physical or digital), baking, shopping, singing, hanging out with friends, attending concerts, or traveling where the wind takes her!

Cole Carlson

social media manager and public relations

Cole Carlson is a sophomore majoring in Arts and Humanities, with a specific focus on language and culture. Growing up in the capital city of Lansing, he developed a great admiration and respect for underground music scenes, community activism and volunteer work. He currently works at the RCAH Language and Media Center (LMC) and has a great passion for graphic design and filmmaking. Joining Bogue Street Records right from the start, as well as providing a name, Cole hopes to bridge the gap between MSU and the greater Lansing area, especially through local music. His past experiences of selling album cover art commissions and playing in/managing bands’ social media assists in his role of creating an effective online presence for BSR. Outside of academics and work, he spends his time going to Lansing and Detroit hardcore punk shows, hanging out with friends, and improving his skills in guitar, bass, and music production.

Ava Crozier
booking and live events (admin), A&R

Ava Crozier is a freshman majoring in Business Management and Information Science with a concentration in Media and Information. Growing up in Orange County, she developed a passion for the communities built around live music, and started Coffeeshop Concerts, a concert series bringing live music into local spaces, providing performance experience to aspiring musicians, and fundraising for youth music programs. After moving to Metro Detroit, she continued and expanded the series over the next three years. Joining Bogue Street Records, she brings that same energy to helping BSR artists find their stages. If not at a concert or listening to music, Ava is likely shopping secondhand fashion, practicing film photography, or planning the itinerary of her next dream vacation. Above all, she believes in community, hard work, and authenticity.

Noah Pfister

booking and live events (admin), A&R

Noah Pfister is a junior studying Microbiology and pursuing a career in hospital administration. He was always incredibly passionate about music, but fully immersed himself upon coming to Michigan State University. In January of 2025, Noah took it upon himself to fully listen to at least one brand new album a day. He finished 2025 with 549 albums, and has continued his streak into 2026. Noah also helps manage local, student-led band Two Weeks In and enjoys helping artists and bands find their stage and platform, a joy he extends in his work at Bogue Street Records. When not listening to music, he can be found playing basketball or hanging out with his friends. Over everything, Noah is most proud of the relationships he has made since coming to college and is excited to be a Spartan.

Our History

Bogue Street Records (BSR) was launched on December 5, 2025 at the Residential College in the Arts and Humanities (RCAH) at Michigan State University. The label is the inspiration of faculty member Austin Oting Har, who joined RCAH in Fall 2025 and had the idea to start the label at the RCAH Language and Media Center (LMC).

The launch party was held on December 5, 2025 at the RCAH LookOut! Gallery and presented the label’s new name, logo, website, and first artist bioPrism—the results of a semester-long process led by Har in collaboration with fellow faculty and staff Dave Sheridan, Marcus Fields, Guillermo Delgado, David McCarthy, Morris Arvoy; the label’s first student representatives Angelina Franzese, Juno Bursch, Kennedy Deshazer, Cole Carlson; and students from Har’s RCAH 215 class. McCarthy, Arvoy, and Franzese contributed towards the label’s first stage, with McCarthy assisting with the label’s discovery of bioPrism and Arvoy (top right) assisting with the logo, launch party, and business cards, and Franzese (bottom left) with live events in Fall 2025 and Spring 2026. Franzese has since graduated with a BFA honors in Stage Management and Arts & Humanities with a minor in Spanish.

In February 2026, the label released its first two albums by Lansing-based artists: Let the Landscape Hold Your Grief by bioPrism (aka Josh Epperly, a Lansing-based ecologist and electronic musician ) and Day Zero Breakdown by Lansing’s Poet Laureate Emeritus Dennis Hinrichsen in collaboration with bioPrism and Worm Moon (aka Dylan Rogers, the owner/founder of The Robin Theatre). All three artists are active at The Robin Theatre, a hub for experimental and interdisciplinary arts in Lansing. Students from beyond RCAH — Ava Crozier from the College of Business and Noah Pfister from the College of Natural Science — joined as BSR representatives. A collaborative performance with Hinrichsen, bioPrism, and Worm Moon followed with the RCAH Center for Poetry, held at the RCAH Theatre and a performance by bioPrism on Impact 89FM. In April 2026, BSR concluded its first semester of activities with Re-Enchantment and Resistance, a festival curated by Har’s RCAH Graduate Fellow in Arts and Community Engagement mentee Melody Broski-Laing and featuring performances by bioPrism, Alexis Lamb, and sound installations of field recordings around Lansing and East Lansing.
