Marcus Fields
board member, graphic design
Marcus Fields is an interdisciplinary artist with interests in both visual and performing arts. He makes photographs that are colorfully abstract and produces printed work under an imprint called M52 Press. He’s also a frequent collaborator in Lansing’s community theater scene, where he directs and stage manages shows at Riverwalk Theatre, Peppermint Creek Theatre, and others. He holds two degrees from Michigan State University: a BA in Arts and Humanities and an MA in Educational Technology. In his current role as Assistant Director of Arts and Media Learning at MSU’s School for Residential Community-Engaged Arts and Humanities (RCAH), he helps manage a media lab and art studio focused on undergraduate learning through technology. He is currently working on rebuilding his .mp3 library and physical media collection by visiting local record shops and supporting artists directly on bandcamp after relying on the music streaming oligopoly for too many years.
