The Re-Enchantment and Resistance Music Festival features music and sound art exploring the complicated relationships between humans and the environments we exist in. This event will feature two Michigan-based guest artist performances and stations to listen to field recordings curated by RCAH 316 Sound Art students. We will conclude the event with a letter-writing activity to advocate for environmental justice in Michigan—a collective act of climate advocacy, offering participants the opportunity to write letters in support of environmental policy and action. Refreshments will be provided.
Featured Guest Artists
Josh Epperly is a Michigan-based electronic artist who releases under the name bioPrism. He creates genre-blurring compositions that draw from ambient, experimentalism, techno, and modern classical. His background in environmental sciences informs the spiritual core of his music, which is distinctly communal and ecological. His work explores loss, transformation, and hope amidst climate crisis.
Alexis C. Lamb (b. 1993) is a composer, percussionist, and educator whose work seeks to cultivate a connectedness to natural, historical, and societal relationships. Her music incorporates a variety of mediums, such as oral histories, field recordings, improvisation, and community input.
Organized by Melody Broski-Laing, RCAH Graduate Fellow in Arts and Community Engagement with support from Bogue Street Records.
